The Fountainside forms joint venture with BMW to offer i3 electric cars

Headland Developments announces that the villas at its luxury, residential development The Fountainside will be sold with an environment-friendly BMW i3 electric car, complete with private charging stations.

An additional BMW i3 will also be offered in a prize draw for owners of all other 38 units in the development.

This ground-breaking offer, in partnership with BMW Macau, is in line with the sustainable design principles of the signature heritage development and its strong emphasis on green credentials.

20 remaining residences at The Fountainside located in Macau’s exclusive Penha Hill district – including 14 apartments, two duplexes and four villas – have just been released for sale.

Reinforcing the development’s eco-friendly credentials, each villa at The Fountainside has its own private garage with a specially adapted charging station for the BMW i3, which owners can use to recharge the ground-breaking new electric car.

The charging stations enhance the “green” ethos of the development, which features a US-certified environment-sensitive roof that boosts energy efficiency and generates cost savings for residents by reducing heat transmission from the rooftop to residential interiors. The roof also mitigates the urban “heat island” effect, which makes built-up areas significantly warmer than their surroundings.

Other ecologically-minded features of The Fountainside include energy-efficient LED lighting in the development’s common areas, and air-conditioning systems that use environment-friendly refrigerant. Double glazing is fitted throughout, with shutters and architectural shading features inbuilt to reduce the heating effects of direct sunlight.
